Privacy Policy

Summary

FocusForge is a digital-wellbeing app. Screen-time totals and focus history stay on your device. We do not create accounts or operate a user database.

Data stored on the device

• Apps you mark as distracting
• Focus session start/end times
• Daily screen-time totals derived from Android Usage Access (if you enable it)

Data we do not collect

Names, email, contacts, location, photos, payment details, message content, or the contents of other apps. No advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

College license verification

FocusForge optionally supports college-wide licensing. When activated:

What is sent: your college activation code; an anonymous device fingerprint (SHA-256 hash, not personally identifiable); app version number.

What is not sent: app usage statistics, screen time, browsing history, the list of apps you use, or personal content.

Why: to verify the college license, seat limits, expiry, and renewal.

After a successful check, the device caches the license and works offline for up to 7 days. The licensing server does not store or process how you use your device.

Permissions

• Usage access (optional): screen time and noticing when a paused app opens during a session you started.
• Notifications (optional): silent session countdown.
• Accessibility (optional): after an in-app disclosure, detect the foreground app during a session. Not required to use FocusForge.
• Internet: only to verify a college license if you activate one. Not used for analytics or advertising.
• Camera (optional): only to scan a campus QR activation code. You can type the code instead.

Sharing

We do not sell or share usage data. Google Play handles individual Premium purchases. Campus license checks go only to the FocusForge license API.

Your control

Disable Usage access or Accessibility in Android Settings. Uninstalling deletes local data. To request deletion of a campus seat, use the FocusForge data deletion page.
